Duro-Last began in 1978 with the simple need to find a roofing system that worked. Existing roofing systems presented a common problem - they required ongoing maintenance and continual expense, with no long-term solution in sight.
Our Founder, John R. Burt, used his experience in fabricating pool liners to develop a remarkable new roofing membrane. Two years of additional testing resulted in the proprietary membrane formula still in use today.
Investigation of the roofing industry proved that the majority of roofing system failures then (and still today) are not due to the roofing system assembly itself but to workmanship on-site. To solve this problem we brought our roofing system "in-house" developing custom prefabrication methods and specialized equipment that allows us to complete nearly 100% of the difficult roof details and up to 85% of field seams under ideal factory controlled conditions. The result is lower on-site labor costs and better installation quality.
Duro-Last is now the world's largest manufacturer of prefabricated roofing systems. The Duro-Last Roofing System, contractor installation team, customer service and warranty all set the quality standards for the roofing industry.
History:
The Stanley Family founded IB Roof Systems in 1978 and had the foresight to promote thermoplastic roofing membranes that were foreign to the roofing industry. Since then, IB Roof Systems has gone from a back of the home business to a multi-million dollar business with locations in Eugene, OR, Dallas, TX, Las Vegas, NV, and Chicago, IL.
One of the first commercial applications using IB single ply was a mechanically attached roof on Harrisburg High School in Harrisburg, Oregon.
'Systems' is the key word in our name. Since 1978, IB Roof Systems has been designing and manufacturing roofing systems, not just materials. IB Roof Systems also limits the availability of our products to authorized installers. In order to meet that high standard of leak-free performance, you need to have a strong and reliable base. And that base begins with the formulation of the product. IB has stayed true to its time and performance proven formula and production process for 35 years by utilizing only the highest quality polymers, plasticizers, fire retardants, and UV stabilizers available to ensure a highly flexible and durable membrane. This formulation is then coupled and reinforced with an anti-wicking 9x9 denier polyester scrim that is highly resistant to solvents, acids, and bases because of the molecular bonds created during the manufacturing process.

PAC-CLAD Architectural Sheet and Coil
PAC-CLAD is a versatile prefinished sheet metal coating (Kynar 500® or Hylar 5000®) that is applied to both G-90 galvanized steel and 3105-H14 aluminum. Originally developed for use in abrasive environments, PAC-CLAD has proven to be ideally suited for application in metal roofing, curtainwall, storefront and trim applications. PAC-CLAD is now available in 37 colors carefully selected to complement a range of building materials.
PAC-CLAD Panels
Petersen Aluminum Corporation maintains extensive roll-forming equipment in each of our regional facilities. Each of our rollformers provides panels that have been Herr-Voss corrective leveled. Standing seam metal roofing, flush, wall and soffit panels are all factory formed in lengths up to 50 feet. Longer lengths are available. Please consult our factory. Matching flashing and trim may also be factory formed or field formed from PAC-CLAD material.
